Spring is less than a month away but I’ve already been rocking this spring makeup look for weeks. Working in news has taught me how to do a full face of makeup incredibly quickly. Like, scary fast. When I wear makeup outside of work I like to keep things simple and fresh. I’ve posted step-by-step instructions for this look, but be sure to check out my Instagram for a full video tutorial!
This effortless look is perfect for spring. Whether you’re at a wedding, brunching with friends, or exploring a new city in the warmer weather, glowing skin, pretty pink tones, and gorgeous lashes will have you looking fab and flirty.
Step 1: I am obsessed with this product. Whether I’m anchoring a newscast or going for a minimal makeup look, the ‘Your Skin But Better’ IT Cosmetics CC Cream is my #1 go to. It provides full coverage and SPF 50 while leaving your skin looking dewy and flawless. A tiny bit goes a long way and this product lasts all day. So first off, apply to the entire face using hands or a beauty blender.
Step 2: Just one shade of eye shadow. What could be easier? I stumbled upon Profusion Cosmetics at Target right after Christmas and grabbed the Profusion Cosmetics Velvet Matte palette for $5. I spend a lot of money on makeup for work and have my products that I will absolutely splurge for. But I also love finding less expensive products that work just as well. I am obsessed with this brand. The brush that comes with the palette is great and the shadows are really pigmented. So step 2, cover your whole lid with ‘keeper’. If you can’t find this exact palette, ‘outspoken’ in this palette appears to be the same exact shade.
Step 3: I love a little bit of liquid liner, especially when you’re working with a bolder shade of eye-shadow. Elf Cosmetics liquid liner in brown has been my go to for years and it’s only $2! I also use the Sephora brand. Line your top lid with a thicker line and go lighter on the bottom.
Step 4: Boost those lashes with my all time favorite mascara, Too Faced ‘Better than Sex’. I’ve tried at least 30 different mascaras and always come back to this one. It’s definitely worth a little splurge, and doesn’t dry out or flake. It also builds nicely. I’ll typically apply two-three coats on my top and bottom lashes.
Step 5: Top off your 6-minute spring look with a little pop of color on the cheeks. Benefit Cosmetics ‘GALifornia Mini Sunny Golden Pink Blush’ pairs perfectly with the eye-shadow to give you a fun, light look. A pro-tip for applying blush, smile when you do so and gently tap a small amount of product on the apples of your cheeks.
Step 6: Finish off your look with a little color on the lips. Tarte ‘Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit’ is the perfect nude color to bring the whole look together!
And there you have it! If you try this look be sure to take a selfie and tag me on Insta! I’d love to know what you think!
